Another CR success story...

Hi Lisbeth and Virgil,

"I have been thinking a lot about CooperRiis and found myself thinking that you may not get feedback from residents that do not complete the CR program to a point where they become fully independent. Though "Roger" hit a plateau while in the program, what he gained was invaluable. He was so ill when he arrived at the farm and he came so far. I watch him now draw on skills I believe he learned thru the program and the camaraderie with the other residents. He is compliant with his medication, he is clean 3 years now but mostly I see a coping skill that is hard to articulate. When he is bothered by symptoms, he addresses them. He talks about them, reaches out to us, takes a walk, etc.  He continues to work with his Dr. on medications and is improving.

I don’t think any of this would have happened with out the foundation he received at CR. He continues to grow in understanding and acceptance of his illness. I believe he is another CooperRiis success story and will continue to blossom."

Have a joyous holiday!

Fondly,

"Rogers" parents
The name has been changed to protect confidentiality but the story is real and written by "Rogers mom.

"Thank you so much for this email and for the update about "Roger". We are so pleased that he is doing well and we too, consider him to be one of our stars. As we all know, "recovery is not linear".  It it is so good to know that "Roger" is using his skills to keep moving forward".
